Jannee Alt, yoga instructor, has been doing this quite a while at Bayfront Park. She was a student and eventually took over the instructor job. She got into a car accident at 19 so she used yoga as part of her healing process.
These classes are held outdoors where it shows a great view of the bay and provides a unique, calm environment away from the city life. “It is lovely, there are lots of people, so you have to project your voice”, Alt said.
Javier Alonso, yoga student, finds it quite hard. “It is challenging but in the end, it is relaxing. It makes you push yourself” Alonso said.
Participants have to get there early in order to get into these classes. All participants must be at least 18 years old and they have to sign a waiver prior to participating in these activities.
Classes are free to all participants. Also, Bayfront Park provides additional free Self-Defense classes for women on Mondays and Wednesdays. For more information, go to
