De-stress Yourself!!

Feeling stressed out from work? Do you feel like doing something different from the same boring routine? Yoga classes are being offered at Bayfront Park every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. This is a great way for people to take advantage of the opportunity to de-stress themselves from their hectic lifestyles.

Jannee Alt, yoga instructor, has been doing this quite a while at Bayfront Park. She was a student and eventually took over the instructor job. She got into a car accident at 19 so she used yoga as part of her healing process.

These classes are held outdoors where it shows a great view of the bay and provides a unique, calm environment away from the city life. “It is lovely, there are lots of people, so you have to project your voice”, Alt said.

People enjoy this experience and it shows a great way of promoting a healthier lifestyle for the rest of the community. “Connect to their heart, relax from their mind”, says Alt. People enjoy this experience and it shows a great way of promoting a healthier lifestyle for the rest of the community, she says.

Javier Alonso, yoga student, finds it quite hard. “It is challenging but in the end, it is relaxing. It makes you push yourself” Alonso said.

Another student, Mark Tnagarone, says, “Yoga changed my life”. He comes from Connecticut and started doing Yoga since October. He lost 25 lbs since then. “It gives me more energy and more flexibility for my arthritis.” Tnagarone said. Its partners are Smart Water, Team Foot Works and the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run.

Participants have to get there early in order to get into these classes. All participants must be at least 18 years old and they have to sign a waiver prior to participating in these activities.
Classes are free to all participants. Also, Bayfront Park provides additional free Self-Defense classes for women on Mondays and Wednesdays. For more information, go to
